BRIEF BIOGRAPHY OF MARGARET NAKAVUBU ONGARIA
Mama Margaret Nakavubu Ongaria has been a devoted Born Again Christian who accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior in the year 1997. She truly loved the Lord and had great hope in prayer, a character she impacted in everyone who had a chance to be around her. She met Papa Steven Ongaria in 1966 at Uganda Prisons – Kigo, where they worked together. They have known each other for over 56 years. They officially wedded on 16th December 1989. During this time, God blessed them with ten (10) children. They went ahead to renew their marriage vows in the year 2016 during their holy pilgrimage to Israel.
Mama was very industrious and business oriented. She was a person of great intellect and character. She was a tough disciplinarian and because of the above mentioned traits, she was able to raise all the children under her care upright. None of her children deviated from proper upbringing and this is something she always praised God for. She also had great passion for educating children. She has therefore left us with that legacy. Mama was also an outgoing and people person albeit very cautious and patient in manner. This character was largely reflected during Papa’s political carrier. At no time did papa fail to attain victory during his political life and all this is attributed to mama’s relentless support and determination.
We bless the lord for the years our lovely mum has lived on earth. She was a mother, mentor, friend, confidant, counselor, wonderful wife and loving grandmother. In terms of belief, she has been a Giant of Faith and even during her times of trials and sickness, she remained firm and faithful in God. She fully convicted herself into prayer.
During her very last moments, she prayed and praised God tirelessly and continuously said “Thank you for bringing me to hospital because I have began my journey home more healthy and happier than you brought me. Therefore, nobody should weep or cry for me because I have now received the miracle that I always longed for from God.
“ Mama was indeed a true definition of a virtuous woman as indicated in Proverbs 31.
May God Rest Her Soul In Eternal Peace.
