WHO’S DR JOHN NYAMUTALE AMOOTI?

Name: John Nyamutale Amooti

DOB: 2. 2. 1938.

Parents:

Mother: Prudensiane (Budesianye) Kabaruli Ateenyi † (1997)

Father: Nyendwoha

Paternal grandparents: Rukara †, Mujoobe † [Father of Mujwarakondo Joseph Kazairwe], Magara †, Kasaabe †, Miirima †, Kanuge †, Ibona †, and Waraga †.

Place of birth: Kinywataba village, Kyanaisoke Subcounty, Mubende District, Buganda Kingdom.

Lived first at Kinywataba, relocated to Isunga in the home of Adamu Kivamujju, a mubiito.  Adamu Kivamujju was a mukodomi to Kazairwe Joseph having married Asafu a daughter of Mujobe, an elder sister of Kazairwe Joseph. It is from here that Kazairwe Joseph a Clinician in Hoima picked the young John Nyamutale [3.5years – 4 years] and took him to Kibaale Dispensary, where Kazairwe had been transferred to from Hoima.

It should be known that many Bakaikya had settled in Isunga. For instance, there was one called Kyenkya who had Shaban and Sowedi as sons. So, it is said, when Rukara son of Mujobe died and was buried in Mutagata, his son Nyendwoha relocated to Isunga where there were relatives. There he got married to Budesiany Kabaruli [Nyamutale’s mother]. It is said, Nyendwoha died at about 30 years old living 5 kids namely:

  1. Kabeyorekya Tereza †
  2. Federesi Bikaramunda †
  3. John Nyamutale
  4. Isingoma Cosma † (2006)
  5. Nyakato Katarina † ()

After the death of Nyendwoha, his family relocated to Adamu’s home. It is from here that Kazairwe who used to visit his Muko’s home while going to Mutagata from Hoima, met the young and orphaned John Nyamutale and picked interest in taking him over. Kazairwe was eventually transferred from Hoima to Kibaale Dispensary.  John Nyamutale started staying with Kazairwe in Kibaale.
