PROFESSIONAL / CAREER IN UGANDA POLICE FORCE:
Mr. George William Ssemukaaya, joined the Uganda Police Force on 1st January 1969.
On 1st January 1970, he was formally posted to Jinja District as a Police Constable. He was later transferred to Kabale District and then to the Uganda -Rwanda Border at Katuna. In 1979 he was sent on training for one year and then transferred to Masaka. He served in the Masaka duty station for three years.
In 1983 he was sent on further professional development training at the then Naguru Police College. He excelled and was promoted to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP). He was thereafter transferred to Soroti duty station and later assigned work in Tororo as the Officer in Charge (OC) Traffic.
Due to his discipline and service excellence, the Police Force once again identified him for yet another career development course. In 1986, he was promoted to Assistant Inspector and was transferred to the Central Police Station (CPS) in Kampala.
In 1993 he was promoted to the rank of Inspector of Police. He was deployed to Kayunga District as the Officer in Charge (OC) Traffic. In 1997, he was transferred to Katwe Police Station as the Officer in-Charge and later deployed in Kajjansi.
Mr. George William Ssemukaaya was appointed to head the then new Police Station at Natete. Following a successful assignment, he was sent to Kabalagala Police Station. He climaxed his professional police duties at C.P.S Kampala where he served between 2000-2001. He retired with full honours from the Uganda Police Force at the rank of Inspector of Police having served his motherland exemplary for 32-years.
Upon retirement, he settled into civilian life and served the community as LCI Chairperson Kawaala Central Zone,Kasubi from 1996 till his death on 04th February 2022.
George William Ssemukaaya was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer which he has battled for over 10years. He was treated locally at Mengo Hospital, Kisubi and Nsambya. He was later referred and got further treatment in Kenya Nairobi at the Texas Cancer Centre. During the last two years, his quality of life deteriorated; he undertook chemotherapy and fought on.gallantly. He was in and out of hospitals until Friday February 04, 2022 at about 5pm when he went to a
better place. He is survived by 11 children and 19 grandchildren.

There will be requiem mass at their home in Kasubi starting at 9:00 pm today 5TH February 2022.
Burial will take place on Sunday 6th February 2022 at 3:00pm in Kituba, turn off Mpooma Girls Secondary School Mukono -Kayunga Road starting with service at noon.
