Mrs. Sandy Asea was born on August 15, 1932 in Lukwiyakare, Gulu and passed on to Glory on Tuesday September 12, 2022 in Kulambiro Kampala. Sandy Ayo Asea was the daughter of Chief Pilipo Ojok and Yudeci Achana Ojok of Lukwiyakare, Gulu.
Sandy went to school at Gulu Primary and went to Mengo to study Midwifery.
She met and got married to Dr. Solomon Bayo Asea. They had 8 children together and lived in various towns where Dr. Asea was Chief Medical Officer.

Dr. Asea was later appointed as the first Ugandan ambassador to Washington DC USA and the family moved to the USA.
Sandy was active in the Diplomatic Corp hosting numerous functions. She also helped mentor numerous Ugandans in the United States community.
The Asea family later moved to the United Kingdom, where Dr. Asea became the High Commissioner.
Sandy’s friendly and knowledgeable disposition, together with her charming witness and humor made her approachable.
The Asea family later moved to Zambia before returning back home to Uganda, where they both established a general clinic at Luwum Street in Kampala.
Sandy was an accomplished farmer. Together with her late husband they helped clear 3,000 hectors of land of Tsetse flies in their ranch in Kochgoma, Gulu.
After the death of her husband and daughter Helen, Sandy moved to Sweden to help raise her 2 young grandchildren.
Sandy’s greatest pride and achievement was in the active role she played in all her children’s education which culminated in all 8 reaching high academic accomplishment, resulting in numerous Bachelors, Masters and PhD degrees.
Sandy returned to Uganda on Wednesday August 24, 2022 to celebrate her 90th Birthday with family and friends.
We celebrate her rich, accomplished and fulfilled life.
Sandy was a born-again Christian who loved the Lord and will be laid to rest besides her loving late husband Dr. Solomon Asea at Emmanuel Cathedral in Arua.
Sandy will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Vigil will be held at their home in Ntinda today on Thursday, 15th September 2022.
There will be a Funeral Service at St. Luke’s Church Ntinda on Friday, 16th September 2022 starting at 10:00am, followed by another vigil at their home in Ntinda at 06:00pm.
Burial will take place at Emmanuel Cathedral, Arua on Sunday 18th September 2022.
