Margaret Kasujja (Akiiki) was born on November 30, 1940. A grand-child Omukama David Kyebambe Ikingura). Her parents were Omusuga Keith Kagoro and Omugo Theodora Kagoro. She grew up in the palace at Rwengoma.
Akiiki moved to Kampala to go to Boarding School and trained as an Administrative Assistant. She had her first child, Grace, before she met her husband, the late Eng. John B. Kasujja. They were married on January 14th 1967 and together raised six children, Sheila, David, Douglas, Barbara, Matthew and James.
Akiiki became a born-again christian in 1989 and her faith in Jesus and spiritual growth continued until the time of her death.
Akiiki later moved to Dallas, Texas in 1994 to attend Douglas’ graduation and later settled there. She worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant and later pursued a Medical Billing and Coding diploma in 2006 at Everest College in Arlington, Texas.
She was a very proud mother-in-law to Rhoda Kasujja, Irene Kasujja, Andrew Bukuru, Julie Kasujja, and Agnes Kasujja. Akiiki loved and was devoted to her 13 grandchildren who today live in five countries on three different continents.
She walked through life with a heart full of compassion, courage, an inner strength, and a large infectious smile.
At 9:09 pm Eastern Standard Time, on a quiet and warm spring evening, Akiiki breathed her last breath in Buford, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta. She was surrounded with love and support from family and friends. She transitioned calmly and peacefully. We rejoice that she is in a better place and that her pain and suffering has ceased. We believe she is now in the presence of her savior Jesus whom she loved and adored.
