Papa Fred Mackay Oriono was born on 29th October1928 at Ngora Hospital to the Late Eriya and Amuge Ebanyat He was the 1st born in a family of 2 children.
He attended subgrade education by the Church Missionary Society where he learned the basics of Christianity. He was baptised in 1932 at St. Philip’s Ngora.
He was brought up in Ngora, together with his only sister, by their parents
He had the opportunity to work for white Missionaries in Kampala, Makerere, where he learned Luganda, and also at Ngora Freda Carr Hospital.
Papa was a loving husband to Toto Naome Ikaju Oriono, whom he married in 1952. Together, they are parents to 9 Children; Molly, Betty, Betty, Florence, Rose, Grace, Margaret, Peter, Fred, and David. He has one Other child Charle. He had 33 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.
Papa was also a father who brought up and nurtured so many other Children who grew up under his loving care in Ngora, including grandchildren, other relatives, in-laws, and so many other people.
Papa was a very smart man, of integrity, very loving, kind, and wise. Above all, he feared and loved the Lord Jesus. Papa was a very good disciplinarian; and we owe our good upbringing to him.
He was a man who loved his clan and always promoted unity and prosperity of the clan members. He was oftentimes involved in conflict resolution among the clan members.
