The late Samuel Frederick Ntende (Fondly known as Sam or Fresante) was born on 1st October 1960 to the late Mr Samwiri Ntende and Mrs Felistas Ntende at Butende Village in Ithe then Busoga District, now Bugweri District. He attended Busesa Primary School from 1967 to 1973. He joined senior one Namasagali College in 1974 and completed his Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education “A Level” in 1979. At Namasagali College he was a great swimmer and a Judge of the school court.
In 1980, Sam was admitted to study law at Makerere University which he completed in 1983. In 1984 he joined Law Development Centre and attained a certificate of legal practice.
In 1985, he briefly joined the public service at the Ministry of Lands and later joined Chief Justice Emeritus Bart Katureebe at his chambers on Luwuum Street until 1991.
In 1992, he teamed up with Kafuuko Ntuuyo to found Kafuuko Ntuuyo, Ntende and Company Advocates. They practiced law as a firm at their chambers until 1998. In 1999, together with Owor, formed Ntende, Owor and Company Advocates. He was working there at the time of his death.
Sam was a very jolly, lovable and loving person, meticulous in his works, humble soul who had self-respect and respect for others.
Sam was married to Agnes Wandira Ntende. He has left 9 children. 5 girls (Trophy, Treasure, Triumph, Sasha Malaika and Samantha) and 4 boys (Raymond, Trevor, Samy and Emma)
Vigil will be held at their home in Kirinya Bweyogerere on Thursday, 11th April 2024.
There will be a Funeral Service at St. John’s Church of Uganda-Kirinya on Friday,12th April 2024.
Burial will take place at their ancestral home in Butende, Lusagha-Bugweri District on Saturday,13th April 2024 starting at 10:00am.
