Mark Kawesa Ntege, a distinguished member of the Ffumbe Clan, was born on 28th August 1948 to Mr. Twalibu Kawesa and Hajati Halima Namulindwa Kawesa.
His early years were marked by a commitment to education and a drive to succeed, which led him to attend Teso College for his secondary education. He later pursued a degree in Business Studies at Nakawa Business School, equipping himself with the knowledge and skills that would define his successful career.
Mark’s professional journey started as an Accountant trainee for Rank Xerox in 1969 then after as Country Director of Rank Xerox in 1971. From 1980-1996, he was appointed as a full manager for the company until it ceased operations in Africa. After 1996, the company Management of Rank Xerox bought out the business and ran it as Xero Tech which later transitioned into the current Ultra Uganda Ltd. His career was crowned by his role as the Managing Director of Ultra Uganda Limited, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership and a keen business acumen. His dedication to excellence extended beyond the corporate world into his personal passions and community involvement.
An avid golfer, Mark was a highly respected Senior Member and Trustee of the Uganda Golf Club. His leadership at the club was impactful, as he served as Chairperson of the Development Board and sat on the Seniors Committee. Through these roles, he played a pivotal part in shaping the club’s growth and fostering a sense of camaraderie among its members.
Beyond his professional and recreational pursuits, Mark was deeply committed to serving his community. He was an active member of the Development Committee at Watoto Church, where he contributed to various initiatives aimed at improving the lives of others and advancing the church’s mission.
Mark was also a devoted family man. He was married to Hon. Monica Azuba Ntege, on 27th February 1988 and together, they shared a loving partnership.
Mark is deceased with eight children: Joan Nanteza, Freda Zawedde, Pamela Nabaggala, Mark Ntege Jr., Valeria Nakawesa Ntege, Maxine Ntege Nakku Mutibwa, Marvin Manga Ntege, Maurice Musazi Ntege and 4 grandchildren, Jemimah, Amari, Tendo and Micah. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and inspiration for them to carry forward.
Throughout his life, Mark Kawesa Ntege exemplified integrity, leadership, and compassion. His contributions to business, sports, and community development have left an indelible mark on those who knew him. He will be remembered not only for his achievements but also for the warmth and kindness he brought to every aspect of his life.
