Hon. Gertrude Chelangat Kulany was born to David Arapta and Joyce on 23rd November 1951 and passed away on Thursday 28th January, 2021 at Kampala Hospital.
She is survived by her Children; Mwanga Mike, Sylvia Kulany, Christine Kulany, Maureen Kulany and Noume Chemtai and grandchildren.
Gertrude was a loving wife and mother to four children as well as having cared for her stepchildren, nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
She studied her O and A Level at Mt. St. Marys Namagunga then BSC. (HONS) Makerere University Kampala, DIP in Industrial Methodology in Italy and Certificate in Women in Community.
Hon. Gertrude was passionate and determined to bring positive change especially to the women of Kapchorwa District, She was an administrator with African Textile Mills, member of National Resistance Council (NRC), member of the constitutional Assembly (C>A), member of Seventh Parliament, Board Member NSSF, Board Member NEC and also a Deputy Director of research at the NRM Secretariat.
There will be a Funeral Service at St. Luke’s Church of Uganda, Ntinda on Friday 29th January, 2021 starting at 10:00am.
Burial will take place at Siron Village, Kapchorwa District on Sunday 31st January 2021 at 02.00pm.
