Previously worked at Ministry of Health as legal secretary at the Allied Health Professionals council and currently was working at the Petroleum Authority Uganda(PAU) as a legal secretary since Early 2019.

Ms. Annet Nabbanja joined the Petroleum Authority of Uganda in June 2019 as a Legal Officer in the Directorate of Legal and Corporate Affairs. She was fondly nicknamed ‘Chikibombe’ at the staff retreat in December 2020, where she scored the winning goal for Salary FC.

Annet gave birth to twins (Wasswa and Nakato) on Tuesday, 23rd March, 2021. A few days later, on Monday, 29th March, 2021, she felt unwell and her husband took her to hospital. Tragically, Annet was pronounced dead on arrival. She was 34 years old.

Annet is the first staff to pass away since the PAU started operations in 2015. She will be sorely missed by colleagues in the PAU, the wider oil and gas sector in Uganda and the legal fraternity.

There is a Funeral Service at Mr. Mawejje’s residence in Kanyanya today on the 29th March, 2021 at 05:00pm.

Burial will take place at their ancestral home in Kabule, Mityana on Tuesday 30th March, 2021 at 02:00pm.
