CHARLES HANDY OGWAL ENGOLA July 21, 2021

Charles Handy Ogwal Engola was born on 22nd July 1939 to the late Yokana Engola (Otikokin clan)and the late Rosemary Tike( Mwa Otiro Tok) at Tekwor village, Alito in Northern Uganda.

He attend his Primary School at Alito primary school Tekwor and Secondary School at Ibuje, Then he joined King’s College Buddo completing his high school.
He joined East African Railway and Harbors Corporation where he was sponsored to study with diploma with East and Central African Management Institute.  It was during that time he met and married his wife Rose Ogwal and had three children; Mrs Irene Atoke, Mary Tike and John Samuel Engola (RIP)

Through East African Railways Authority Charles Ogwal was sent to East German for studies where he acquired Business Management and Civil Engineer degrees.

Charles was then living in Nairobi Kenya living with his wife and young children and moved to Mombasa Kenya where he continued working with East African Railways and harbors Corporation, during which he was privileged to travel to South Africa, Botswana, Holland and Belgium working as Civil Engineer.

Early 70’s he was posted to Dar es Salaam in Tanzania. In 1974 he started his own Construction Engineering and Decoration Management company in Tanzania. Some of his projects including key  buildings in Dar es Salaam.
After the liberation of Uganda he returned to settle home in early 80’s and continue working as a business person.  For political reason he went to live in UK where he worked with the Royal Air Force until he retired.

He returned home to Uganda and was in the process of settling for good.  Unfortunately due to his cardiology condition he required medical treatment  which caused delay to his return.

Charles Ogwal suffered Congestive Cardiac Failure on 23rd June 2021 whilst waiting for an appointment for operation of his condition.
