Married to the Late Prof JP Ocitti of Lacani, Pajule, Pader District
She is survived by Five Children.
Three Boys and two Girls (Unfortunately one Boy passed on).
EDUCATION BACKGROUND
- 1955-1960 Primary Education at Mucwini Primary School.
- 1961-1962 Junior Secondary Education at St Monica Girls’ School in Gulu District (Had to leave School when her father died.
- 1963-1966 Undertook Teacher Training at Canon Lawrence PTC Lira
- 1970-1973 Took an In-service Course in infant education but left three months before Completion because of being forced into Exile in Zambia.
- 1974-1976 Registered with Rapid Results College to Study by (Correspondence) for the University of London General Certificate of Education (GCE) and passed highly.
- 1979-1981 Took a Diploma Course in Teacher Education at the University of Zambia where she excelled.
- 1991-1994 Took a Bachelor of Education (BED Makerere University and excelled highly.
SHE DID SEVERAL COURSES:
- Schools Health Education Program (SHEP), UNICEF/MOE&S.
- Education and Care of Persons with Mental Handicap (EARS & MOE&S).
- Live Skills Education with UNICEF &Ministry of Gender
- Early Childhood Education and Care at Agakhan Foundation
- Complimentary opportunities for Primary Education (COPE) which caters for Children who are supposed to be at school but are currently at home (Ages 08-17Yrs)-UNICEF & MOE&S

- 1982-1985 Worked as Inspector of Schools in charge of Early Childhood Education in Uganda from Head
- Quarters of the Ministry of Education, Central Inspectratorates for 13Years.
- 1996-National Supervisor of Complimentary Opportunities of Primary Education (COPE)-UNICEF &MOE&S
- 1998-2000 Served as Technical Education Advisor-Kitgum Core TTC under Support Uganda Education Primary Education Reform-SUPA founded by USAID.
- 2003-2007 Served as a Member of Pader District Service Commission, Pader Local Government
- 2011-2025-Has been working with The Amnesty Commission Uganda (As Commissioner in charge of Northern Uganda Region)
RESEARCH & PUBLICATION:
- Did research on Children mental development from early childhood to Adolescence
- Carry Out Research on the Perspective Child abuse in Uganda-Physical, Sexual harassment,
- Publications Child Labour, Verbal assault and Publication
- Part time writer with Longman Publication.
- Part time writer and translator with the National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC).
- Member of the Committee of traditional Justice mechanism (JLOS), Ministry of Justice, where she carried out research on traditional Justice Mechanism in the Acholi sub region (2009-2011).
- Community involvement. Members of FAWE-Forum for Africa Women Educationists
- Member of The International Women Organisations Uganda Chapter
- Member of Board of Governors of a numbers of Secondary & Technical Schools.
- Member of UNIFAME-United Nations Women Development Funds
- Chairperson of Kitgum Women Development Association.
- Vice Chairperson of the Acholi Development association from 1996-1999.
- Secretary for Women Affairs Kololo one Parish Kampala from 1987-2005
- External Examiner for Early Child hood Education Kyambogo University.
- Participated in the Peace Seeking Meeting – KACOKE MADIT held in London (1988)
There will be a Funeral Service at All Saints Cathedral, Nakasero on Thursday, 10th April 2025 starting at 09:00am and thereafter a vigil at her Residence in Seeta, Mukono.
Burial will take place in Pajule Town Council – Pader District on Saturday, 12th April 2025.
