Godfrey Kabugo was born on July 20, 1957, in Kalisizo, Masaka, to the late Moses Ssentongo and Eseza Nabawesi. He passed away in Kampala on March 8, 2025, due to a brain hemorrhage. Following a brief hospitalization in July 2022, his health steadily declined, but he remained positive and in good spirits throughout his journey.
Godfrey began his early education at Kabanda Primary School in Masaka before joining Makerere College School. After completing his advanced education, he pursued a career in dentistry at Mulago Dental School. He was later posted to Jinja Hospital, and also work at Jinja Dental Clinic where he dedicated himself passionately to his profession, serving his community with unwavering commitment until his final days.
A kind, thoughtful, and caring person, Godfrey’s warmth and cheerful disposition made him a joy to be around. His passing has left an immense void in the hearts of his family and friends in Kampala, Jinja, and Masaka, who deeply loved and treasured him.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind his beloved wife, children, siblings, in-laws, nieces, and nephews, who will forever cherish his memory.
There will be a Funeral Service at St. Andrew’s Church -Jinja on Wednesday ,12th March 2025 starting at 12:00pm, there after vigil will take place at his home in Kakindu West – Jinja at 7:00pm.
There will be another vigil on Thursday, 13th March 2025 at their ancestral home in Kibutamu, Kyotera District starting with a Funeral Service at 7:00pm.
Burial will take place at his ancestral home in Kibutamu, Kyotera District on Friday, 14th March 2025 starting with a Service at 12:00PM.
